Chunking more complex sentences

  • this display indents by level of subordination:

πάντων τῶν κακῶν

ἀποθανοῦσα

αἰτία μοι γεγένηται

  • start by reading down the left-most (principal) elements:

πάντων τῶν κακῶν … αἰτία μοι γεγένηται

Then proceed in one level, and work on each subordinate construction.

When you’re done, reread it like a printed text:

πάντων τῶν κακῶν ἀποθανοῦσα αἰτία μοι γεγένηται

Another example…

ἡ ἐμὴ γυνὴ

ὑπὸ τούτου τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὀφθεῖσα,

χρόνῳ διαφθείρεται
